    COLBY MEMBERSHIP DRIVE!

Join us for our March meeting in Colby to learn about the benefits of a membership with SHRM of Western Kansas!

Our membership drive will kick off on March 27th at 11:30 am with Melody Rayl, Partner in the Kansas City office of National Labor & Employment litigation firm Fisher Phillips.

The membership drive will conclude at our next Colby meeting, June 6th at Pioneer Memorial Library.

    Presentation Synopsis:

Homicide is a leading cause of fatal occupational injuries in the United States. While workplace violence cannot be 100% prevented, employers can improve the odds and mitigate the impact.

This session provides some practical advice to employers to help prevent incidents of workplace violence or to minimize the impact of violent episodes when the unthinkable occurs.

Melody's practice focuses on all aspects of employment litigation and counseling.  She has successfully defended and tried cases in both state and federal courts.  She also frequently advises on mitigation of risk in employment matters, provides training to her business clients on a variety of employment related topics and regularly counsels businesses through difficult situations with an eye to preventing lawsuits before they occur.

Qudoba's will be provided for lunch free of charge to attendees.
