Program description for HCRI credit: HR departments generate and/or obtain a wide variety of documents, including job announcements, employment applications, background check reports, performance reviews, disciplinary reports, payroll records, Forms I-9, Forms W-2, and medical records. But how far into the future must HR retain these documents, and when is it safe to destroy them? During this session, attorney Jim Spencer will provide statutory and regulatory document retention requirements and best practices for retaining and destroying personnel records.
